Japan plays two of its three group-stage matches at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, making the Dallas-Fort Worth area the most efficient home base for traveling supporters. The squad’s training camp is in Nashville, but the team will travel to Texas for both fixtures.
Here is how Japanese fans can make the most of their time in North Texas.
Japan is in Group F with two matches at AT&T Stadium:
Netherlands vs. Japan on Saturday, June 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Japan vs. Sweden on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. CT.
Between these dates, Japan plays Tunisia in Monterrey, Mexico, on June 20. Fans based in DFW can use the gap to explore the area without missing a home fixture.
Most flights from Tokyo (NRT or HND) to DFW Airport take about 12 to 13 hours with direct service available on select carriers. From DFW Airport, the Arlington Entertainment District is about 15 miles south. A rideshare from here will take about 20 to 25 minutes.
The budget option from the airport is the free TRE LINK bus to CentrePort Station, then Arlington On-Demand (Via app).
The Arlington Entertainment District puts you within walking distance of both AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field. Live! by Loews and Loews Arlington Hotel are the two closest options to the stadiums. The Drury Plaza Hotel is about a mile away and includes a free hot breakfast and evening drinks.
Downtown Dallas (25 minutes east) has more dining, shopping and nightlife options but requires a car or rideshare to reach the stadium on match days.
Hotels in the Arlington area will be in high demand during the tournament. Book as early as possible.
On match days, the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) runs from Dallas and Fort Worth to CentrePort Station, where ticket holders transfer to charter buses heading to the stadium area. Total travel time is about 90 minutes from downtown Dallas. Start your journey at least four hours before kickoff.
Rideshare services route to the Esports Stadium Arlington parking lot, about 0.7 miles from AT&T Stadium.
With 11 days between the two Arlington matches, you have plenty of time to explore.
Globe Life Field sits right next to AT&T Stadium. The Texas Rangers play home games throughout June, and the stadium has a retractable roof with air conditioning. Baseball is a different experience from soccer, but the ballpark atmosphere, food and climate control make it a comfortable evening out. Get tickets to see the Rangers in 2026.
The DFW area has extensive shopping options, from NorthPark Center in Dallas (one of the largest malls in the country) to Grapevine Mills near DFW Airport, which also houses Meow Wolf Grapevine.
For Japanese visitors looking for familiar flavors, the DFW area has a growing selection of ramen shops, sushi restaurants and Japanese grocery stores, particularly in the Richardson and Plano areas north of Dallas.
The Fort Worth Stockyards (30 minutes west of Arlington) offer the longhorn cattle drive twice daily at 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CT. Billy Bob’s Texas has live music and two-stepping. The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth’s Cultural District has free general admission.
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Klyde Warren Park, the Dallas Museum of Art (free) and Reunion Tower are all within a short distance of each other.
The Texas summer is hot. June temperatures regularly exceed 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees Celsius). Carry water, wear sunscreen and plan outdoor activities for morning or evening hours.
Both AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field are fully air-conditioned. Restaurants and malls keep their AC very cold. A light jacket or cardigan is useful indoors.
Sales tax (about 8.25% in the Arlington area) is not included in listed prices. Tipping at restaurants is expected at 15% to 20%.
